48 HOURS IN NYC
1. Cold Pressed Aloe Water from Juice Press.
I took 6 cycle classes in 36 hours. Staying hydrated was essential. Aloe Water is chock full of vitamins & minerals. It can also aid in skin repair. I am more familiar with Asian market Aloe Water, which is more syrupy and sweet. The Juice Press version is practically tasteless and delicious!
2. Marc by Marc Jacobs Cat Eye Sunglasses
My favorite sunnies ever! Adam broke the news to me that Marc by Marc Jacobs was going to be discontinued on a crowded Brooklyn train. I was devastated!
Living with a musician, I have learned the importance of using ear plugs. He always uses them when he cycles, so I decided to try it out this weekend. I really appreciated that every studio color coordinated their earplugs. I absolutely can tell a difference when I use plugs and was so stressed when one popped out during my Soul ride. Save your ears, use ear plugs!
4. Health Warrior Chia Bar
I am Powered by Chia. These little 100 calories bars are so magical. Packed with protein, fiber, and omega-3s, Chia Bars give me life. I tried to eat one before and/or after every class. Mostly because I'm obsessed. I can't even decide on my favorite flavor because they're all so good. Made in Richmond, VA!
5. Hand Shit Hand Cream Sweet Pea & Lilac
A little bit goes a long way with this hand cream. My hands feel like silk every time I apply, which was a lot this weekend. From being in the cold and constantly washing my hands or putting on hand sanitizer, I was drying out. Plus, I love that Sweet Pea scent, it's my birth month flower.
6. Boxer's NYC
I'm a big fan of Boxer's. A few years ago, Adam and I met Manila Luzon & Sahara Davenport at Boxer's because they used to host RuPaul's Drag Race viewing there. I love going to familiar places in NYC. The shirtless hunky bartenders are the cherry on top! Unisex bathrooms are always weird, because dudes kick me out because there are urinals but I'm not looking at their junk. I'm more concerned about not sitting on the toilet seat. We had to commemorate our hangout with a Photo Booth pic.
7. Shimano Cycling Shoes
My cycling shoes put in some serious work this weekend! I was so worried that I was going to have a funky clip during this trip, but I didn't! If you like to cycle and do it often, you should order your own shoes. It's worth it to not have to worry about other people's foot funk when you rent shoes. I still plan to bedazzle these babies soon!
In addition to cycling, I wanted to hit as many juice bars as I could on this trip. Well, I went to zero. After my final cycle class on Sunday, I downloaded the Green Hopping app in hopes to find Activated Charcoal Lemonade. I went down 23rd Street and found myself at a macaron pâtisserie instead!! I was pleasantly surprised to see a Pink Champagne flavor. ( I got 2.) The other flavors I chose were Banana Nutella, Mango Passionfruit, Vanilla, & Lemon. These are definitely the best macaroons that I've had ever!!! This is the second time that I've gotten macarons before my train ride back and it is a true test of my self-control to not eat them all before I get home.
I sweat SO MUCH this weekend. I kept these wipes in my bag to keep my face refreshed. Argan oil, aloe vera, and cucumber extract keep my face balanced. I was PMSing and couldn't handle a sweat induced breakout. I love Josie Maran's natural, plant-based products. I love that a portion of the proceeds go to the Polar Bear SOS Initiative.
I couldn't have survived such a hectic weekend without all of my essentials! Can't wait to get back to NYC again soon.
