Citizen Burger Bar
I recently attended my very first Virginia Bloggers event! We were meeting up at Citizen Burger Bar, a burger joint based in Charlottesville, recently opened in Carytown. While I love burgers, (especially Shake Shack), I am trying not to consume very much meat, so I rarely eat them anymore. The folks at Citizen were kind enough to hook the bloggers up a bit. We had the bar tables all to ourselves and took advantage of some discounted menu items. The service was on point, especially when we were moving tables and playing musical chairs. (They split our checks like a champ!)
I knew that my fellow Elements Beauty Blogger, Whitney of WorthyStyle would be there, but I hadn't met any of the other bloggers before. I am always nervous to meet new people, sometimes I don't feel interesting enough! I had a nice time meeting and chatting with the other bloggers! It's always a great time connecting and putting faces to names! It was fun to swap business cards and social media handles and not blink and eye when we all took out our phones to snap pix. I hope I can more of these events!

Flash-fried Shishito Peppers, with sweet soy sauce and ranch dressing. My personal favorite appetizer.
Whitney was on Periscope until it got a lil out of hand!
Bathroom Selfie, duh!
I opted for the Vegan burger, made with quinoa, millet, and beets. Honestly, my stomach doesn't normally agree with quinoa, but this is the only veg burger option, unless you want a grilled cheese . I added sautéed mushrooms and yellow mustard because that is my burger vibe. I went to cut my burger in half (because again, that's how I do) and the burger kinda smushed in half. I ended up just eating it with a fork. It was pretty tasty tho. The addition of beets to the vegan burger was super delicious, I just wish it would have held together better!
I wanted dessert but I had also been craving a spicy marg, so I went for a Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita. Luv that salt/chili rim!
