Can I be honest? I am terrible when it comes to moisturizing my body. It is a step that is often missed in my beauty routine. I'm working on getting better about it! It might be because I don't have a staple body lotion. For years, I have been relying on hotel travel minis and leftover Christmas gift sets for my moisturizing needs. I was so pumped to receive LATHER's new Mangosteen & Green Tea Moisturizer; this product nourishes dry skin with natural botanicals.
I would proudly call myself a tropical fruit connoisseur. Jackfruit, papaya, guava, pomelo….you name it, I've probably tried it. Yet, I had no idea what a mangosteen was; I assumed it was in the mango family. WRONG. Originating in Southeast Asia, this purple fruit can be compared to lychees, peaches, and clementines. Mangosteen contains phytonutrients called xanathones, which possess numerous beneficial properties. Fruit extracts add antioxidant protection to this lotion while soothing and smoothing the skin. No wonder, mangosteen is known as the queen of tropical fruits. The NYTimes once described this delicacy as "so thrillingly, intoxicatingly luscious." Queen Victoria offered knighthood to anyone that could bring her a divine mangosteen but nobody ever succeeded in doing so!
Mangosteen was banned in the U.S. until 2007, which probably explains it's recent rise to fame in the health and beauty world. (I still can't find it in the Richmond area). Clearly, it is the star of this tropical body lotion. Wasabi root purifies the skin, while the addition of green tea protects antioxidants from environmental stressors. Aloe vera and rice brain act together to moisturize and refresh. Sunflower oil, shea and cocoa butters renew the skin.
The lotion is silky and lightweight. It quickly absorbs into my skin and doesn't leave any oily residue. The scent is clean and sweet; not artificial at all. I want to drink it!! Generously apply this lotion and give your skin the royal treatment.
